BUDGET

The total budget of the project that was set during the planning phase was $130. This was based off of the pricing available for the individual components needed to construct the bridge. Due to changes that occurred during the construction phase of the project, the price of the components was reduced drastically. The portion of the budget spent was $83 or 63% of the projected budget on the material to make the bridge. The cost was brought down by swapping to standard English sizes for the balsa wood from local stores, changing the pivot method to a hinge, and by tools being loaned for the purposes of constructing the project.

An additional $21 was spent on material for the testing of the bridge to bring the total expenditures of the project to $104. These purchases included a steel plate, eyebolt, and a bucket, all for the weight testing for the roadway.
