Analysis 1 was the first major step in finding a direction of the project. The purpose was to determine the necessary cross sectional area of each of the members to sustain the loading under ideal conditions. A general safety factor of 4.0 was used for the stress in order to prevent any premature failures. The total mass of the design was not a concern at this point in the project and was set to be refined based off of the solid works model.
